I would like to start a home service/consulting business from my home. I don’t plan on having any employees. I am unsure what kind of licensing I would need and where I would need to register/ check my business name. I live in Las Vegas and I am looking to start a home decorating type of business.

    for securring a name id suggest register.com they are great there much better and cheaper than godaddy

    You have to find out if your property is zoned for a home business. If not you can work out of your car and use it as a business expense. Just go to the city and get a license under whatever name you choose. Then get cards made and pass em out. Good Luck. Contact a CPA to do all your taxes.
