Cindy asked:

I want to try to start a small business selling houseplants at farmers markets and possibly independent retail stores. Has anyone on here done that? Did it go well for them? How did you obtain your first plants?

Some people succeed and others fail. Check this website and good luck

    You will need to:

    - Sell your plants at a lower price than major retailers like Wal-Mart
    - Constantly have a good selection of healthy plants
    - Do so at a lower price than what it costs you, so you can make a profit. If you can’t do that, then there is no way to succeed.

How many houseplants do you plan to sell? How many varieties?
I wouldn’t carry less than 10 varieties, at least 3 or 4 of each variety, at any given time.
