Please don’t tell me bplans.com. It looks like a 2nd grader put together those plans. I need 25 pages not a 1 page summary. Help!

Interesting question. Being that I work for the company who put the bplans website together, I’m not sure I should be answering this question. But I’ll give it whirl.
Examples of business plans are as simple as opening google and typing in “Free business plan” or “business plan example” or any variation of that theme. The internet is littered with thousands of examples. Indeed, you have only to look through the questions on yahooanswers website to see the multiple places you can find examples. You will find some good plans and some bad plans. The surprising thing is, what might look like a “bad” plan to you might have gotten the writer quite a lot of money to fund his or her business. That’s the way it works. “Good” is subjective.
As to the plans we have on bplans. Those are business plans written by consultants, advisor’s, experts and by people like you who wanted to get funding or get their business off the ground.
We call those plans on bplans.com - examples. We stress they are not the end result for you, but a starting place and a resource. At the core, every business plan has a basic outline. You are the one to supply the content.
Search out your local SBDC or SCORE office for one-on-one advising. Check out a local community college for an entrepreneurial program. Contact your bank or accountant. Those are excellent resources to get business planning help.
Not sure that was helpful, but good luck in your search.

The business plan consists of a narrative and several financial worksheets. The narrative template is the body of the business plan.
The real value of creating a business plan is not in having the finished product in hand; rather, the value lies in the process of researching and thinking about your business in a systematic way. The act of planning helps you to think things through thoroughly, study and research if you are not sure of the facts, and look at your ideas critically. It takes time now, but avoids costly, perhaps disastrous, mistakes later.
This business plan is a generic model suitable for all types of businesses. However, you should modify it to suit your particular circumstances.
You will be judged by the quality and appearance of your work as well as by your ideas.
Here are the headings to consider :
I. Table of Contents
II. Executive Summary
III. General Company Description
IV. Products and Services
V. Marketing Plan
VI. Operational Plan
VII. Management and Organisation
VIII. Personal Financial Statement
IX. Startup Expenses and Capitalisation
X. Financial Plan
Good luck, do not under estimate the advantages of professional help, especially in the beginning, but finance institutions also like to see some of your own input in the presentation.
